tbh now a days unless you need 75hz the price tag for 144hz doesn't start much above this. more name brand like aoc end up anywhere from 120 buck to 160 for a samsung oddysey 144hz.

AOC is "more name brand" than ASUS? This seems like a very decent deal for an IPS display from a well-regarded brand as long as you're okay with the size.

I don't think that's a fair comparison. The AOC and Samsung monitors in this price range are likely VA panels, where this is IPS. I'm not saying you're wrong, but there are reasons people would want this over the 144hz VA panels

tbh 189 would be a horrible deal as you would end up past the area you can find decent high hz ips displays
