I bought this exact laptop a few weeks ago, however you are better off buying it from Microcenter. The Microcenter SKU is the same price, however it comes with an extra 1TB SSD in the 2nd SSD slot. It has been great so far. I paid the then "sale" price of $2,649.99 @ microcenter. I just missed the return window for them to do a price-match (15 days with microcenter). I LOVE THE KEYBOARD! Joy to type on! So far only had time to finish Spider-Man Miles Morales which was insane.

Just keep in mind microcenter also has the higher end video card version, RTX 4090 for sale right now at $2,799.99. While this SKU @ microcenter has the 4090 with 16gb video ram (4GB more than the 4080 model), this SKU does not have an extra 1TB SSD like the 4080 version does. I have seen multiple reports that the price difference between the 4080 vs 4090 is not worth the performance gains, at least for gaming. The only upside might be the extra video ram on the 4090, but I personally would still recommend the 4080 version. Just make sure to test the hell out of it to make sure you didn't get a dud. Check for dead pixels, and back light bleed especially.

I have 3070 5i pro. Is this a big upgrade or should I wait for bigger price drop?

if you have desktop and if your mb supports then go for rtx4070ti its best value upgrade right now.. you can compare performance with 3090ti very little difference. FYI I own none of them but my friends have it.

This is an amazing price for the 4080 version. Its a no brainer to buy at this price point. I have the 4090 version and its been 1 of my top 2 laptop purchases in my lifetime. 4-4.5 hrs of battery life and can handle all games including 35 min charging from 10-100% If you can get this laptop, at this price, just buy it and you wont regret it.

While it is a better deal from MC, if you're not near one you have to be lucky to get one for shipping.

This is good time to buy, or be watching the trend to buy. Went with 3070ti gen 7 last year and they weren't doing much for discounting at all and then next gen is here and is being heavily discounted.

I'm planning to pick the 4090 config up this weekend. I've been waiting for 40 series laptops to drop in price considering all laptops are falling in pricing lately. This looks like a good buy.

well i have a Asus G15 with a 5900hs and a 3070 and it pretty much wipes the floor with the asus. I love asus laptops and almost got the G18 but I wanted to wait for the 7945hx version but I couldnt turn down a good deal. Got this with the 4090 for 2683.00 from lenovo. Nothing wrong with Asus, but the g18 does have coil whine. There is not going to be any performance difference between all of the brands. This laptop runs very cool, it is quiet, battery life is the same as the G18. You will never notice a difference unless you get a 140w version of the video card. Both are great, i just think the keyboard on the Legion is way superior than all of the rest.

The mobile 4090 should be about 20% faster than the 4080. Since it's about 20% more expensive, it's actually pretty reasonable for best-in-class performance.
