Bought this recently, it's a bit loud but I'll take it over anything with a Seagate drive. The default NTFS format reported useable free space was around 14.5TB IIRC.

I feel like this is a dumb question on my part, but this has to be plugged into a power outlet and is not bus powered correct? thanks
As is, yes, you must have it plugged into an outlet. But you can also remove the drive from the enclosure and use it as a standard internal drive, which would run off the power of the computer or NAS or 4 bay enclosure or whatever.
