Bought this during the last deal, and addressing the comments from the previous thread from my experience.

The whole point of this is the novelty, having your guests/kids excitedly watch the popcorn cook in the mini machine, getting to scoop it out into their own bags/bowls, etc.

Everyone says this is way too small, I disagree. You can make enough for two FULL bowls for two people, or a "small movie theater" serving for 3-4. Second batches cook fast anyway. I wouldnt have liked it if it were bigger, too much space needed.

It is not hard to clean at all. The pot and lid are wiped down with a cloth and then the "glass" and tray with a second. Takes all of 45 seconds.

Flavacol is definitely a must, I got mine at smart and final.

It does take up a sizeable space in storage, so I recommend including it as part of your decor instead.

Add the kernels to the pot (directions give you amounts), add flavacol, I sprinkle about 1tsp over the pile of kernels so its evenly distributed, then pour oil over top of that to spread it out even more.
Cooks just the same but tastes like movie theater popcorn.

1tsp works for me, but you can adjust it up or down. The directions say to use 1/2Tbps for 6oz of kernels, but the machine takes 4oz.

A large amount of space needed for a "unitasker". I'm having way more fun these days making popcorn in my wok.

ORRRRrrr... You could just use a pot you already own and it'd be a whole lot easier to clean, too.

Bought this last time and returned it. I gave it a good shot. Made multiple bowls of popcorn in it. It is just too small and too hard to clean.

don't bother with this, buy an air popper instead. No oil needed, faster (under 60 seconds) easier to clean.

I vehemently disagree about the "not hard to clean at all" part. Oiled popcorn goes everywhere in popcorn maker and it's incredibly time-consuming to clean every square inch of it. You can't just wipe it down with a cloth to actually clean it.

Dont know whats difficult on your end (maybe oil choice/amount used?).
All I do is use a warm damp rag to mobilize the oil (or clean while hot), then flip it over and wipe again.
No oily residue left on the glass or hand.

Great plan if you need some packing peanuts, or need to string some popcorn up for holiday decoration. The closest I come to eating air-popped is SkinnyPop.

I've been so close to getting one of these over the years, but each time I end up stopping myself because I know I wouldn't use it enough to justify it. This is one of those things that appeals to people for the aesthetics and idea of it, but the practicality just isn't there. It's too easy too just make it on the stove, clean up the pan, and done.

Add coconut oil and 1/2 tsp flavacol directly to the pot. Add 4oz kernels after it is hot. No need to be complicated, the agitator is gonna mix everything well. Consider getting butter flavored oil if you want that greasy "added butter" movie theater experience.
