The Dual temp version goes on sale with battery, charger, and dremel station for $49
This version is missing the temp selection, drip tray, overmolding, and extra tips
This one is not Dual Temp, FYI...
I'm still waiting on the combo kit for 50.

Forgot to add the link for the last time this went on sale.
For anyone on the fence.. if you are in the Ryobi ecosystem, this is a must buy. It is probably one of the most used tools that I have. It's great for insta-fixes for little things you need done in the house. Takes about 3-5 minutes to properly heat and will self-shut off after a while if you forget the switch. IT's an absolute trooper and will go through glue sticks if you need it for tough jobs.
Meh. Rather have a cord than a heavy battery attached. While I know some people love adding another tool to their rechargeable lineup, this one seems like a waste to me. I've never even been in a situation where a battery powered glue gun would really be needed... though I imagine some people might.
I ordered the "Gorilla Dual Temp Full-Size Hot Glue Gun" yesterday. How does this compare to the gorilla brand?
If you don't mind the cord, the Gorilla would be better. If you don't want a cord, then go with the Ryobi. Beyond that, it just comes down to the quality of the glue sticks.

Been trying to buy that one but it sold out within the hour the last 2 times it was on sale

I used to be captain corded but I now find I use alot of tools more readily because it is just so much easier to pop in a battery and go to work. Having a cord also adds another element of danger, whether it snags on something or gets burned or you trip on the mower cord and get concussed, or your pet gets caught up in the cord or whatever crazy crap could happen. Maybe someday you need to glue something 12 feet up and this makes the task way safer than having a heavy cord draped everywhere.
I've been looking to buy these ryobi glue guns for awhile now. Is this one really separate and complementary to the dual temp $50 one people are discussing, or should I just hold my horses and wait for that deal to come back because that glue is just decidedly superior? Thank you.

IMO it is better to wait on this deal to come back (it has a few times)
No drip tray or any extras.
This thing is only worth $5.00 at this point.
