Don't store hot 🔥 food in plastic containers.
I'm not against cutting down on single use plastic, (which the OP is not) but the plastic in the oceans is a direct result of the recycling industry. All the pictures of floating mats of plastic can be laid directly at the feet of recycling. Very little plastic is recyclable no matter if it has been marked with the triangular recycle symbol. Since most plastic cannot be recycled, recycle companies pay third world countries a pittance (mostly in Asia) to take it and they promptly dump it in the ocean. Like most "green" initiatives, Recycling (plastic at least) is a scam that does more harm than good.

Please stop buying plastic and get glass storage. Not only does it not leach chemicals into the food but also does not clog up the landfill/ ocean as well as ultimately last longer.

104oz-3pack looks like a pretty decent price at $6.42.

For the glass users in the room, what's an affordable single compartment glass option? I don't want to keep using plastic but I bought a 10 pack of 2 compartment glass containers last year, used them for two months of meal prep then switched back after I got tired of how claustrophobic the compartments were (my fault). I usually meal prep about 6 days worth of food, 3 meals a day, so 18 meals in 1 go.

So when you come back from the grocery store, do you transfer your Organic gallon jug of milk that comes in a plastic bottle into a glass bottle? What about the meat that is wrapped in plastic or your veggies that come in a plastic bag? LMAO
