From the Amazon reviews, it looks like the drill portion of the bit comes out of the hex portion of the bit. Sometimes it comes out on first use, sometimes it comes already disassembled when you open the package. I was considering purchasing them, but now I'm not.

I own several different sets of Makita-branded bits. I don't doubt that some people have had this experience, but I have had zero problems with any of them. On the contrary, I find the Makita hex drill bits are less likely to have an inherent wobble than other hex bits sold by other brands.

I personally have had them come apart at the hex. Unfortunately I was not drilling hard material or put a large load on the bit.

It's showing up as about $16 for me, not $11. It says it's sold and shipped by Amazon. Am I missing a step here?
