Great rods overall. I've been using them for bass fishing for the past 2 years. They've held up to my Illinois & Wisconsin bass and Pike as well as with Florida 8 pounders in a few trips. I also run Cabonlites from Bass Pro. These are nearly just as good in my opinion. Especially for this price. I bought 3 more for my collection as I love the feel of them... Light weight and great grips. I personally paired mine up with Daiwa Tatula 100 and 200 baitcaster reels. For spinning reels, I run Shimano NASCI's. Tried the Carbonfire spinning reels. Felt great, but got a lot of wind knots on braid so I went back to the old faithful Shimanos.

Shipping was showing $10 after discount, but I was able to find them in stock at local stores. Guess it would depend on where you live though.

Shipping is $20 with discount if you try to buy 2. No matter where you live 10 divided by 35 is steep, $20 is hwy robbery even for anyone nowhere near a brick and mortar. Shipping even ruins chances of a price match.

If you factor shipping into each rod its still a near 50% savings, agreed that it lessens the deal though and may not be worth it if you don't have any brick and mortars nearby. Not sure I'd classify that as highway robbery but I guess its subjective in the end.

For what it's worth, i don't like getting rods shipped unless I'm buying from a reputable company that packages their rods in sturdy tubes, otherwise you risk getting a broken rod and having to return. Companies that use those tubes to ship always have higher shipping fees, usually in the $30-$50 range, and usually their rods aren't cheap either, but you're pretty much guaranteed for your rod to arrive intact and damage-free.

Boooo! Can't access Dicks website through a VPN. I'm noticing more websites are doing this.

Unfortunately Dick's has classified the rods as oversized (probably because most are 1 piece?) so they are charged the oversized shipping fee which turns out to be $10/rod. I know when ordering in store, there is no minimum for free shipping. Maybe they'll ship oversized for free? I'd call to make sure before heading to the store.

Bought this at dicks two days ago at this price. This thing is super light. I'm tempted to buy a spinning rod as well. Highly recommend.

All right I got my orders in locally for pickup. So this is literally my favorite combo set for my baitcaster. I bought the real before Christmas for $89 just because I didn't have one yet and the poles were my go-to favorite. Now of course they're half price so I've certainly stocked up. Sure there's plenty of better brands out there with more expensive product, but you're not going to find a better combo for $80 for sure. At least that's what I think...🙂

Thanks….bought 2 sets for my guests…I don't want them to ruin my expensive rigs. People abusively throw rods on the ground…it's heart breaking! 😅

I have this exact reel, for the price it's solid. I fish multiple times a week and switched to Lews gear. I just wish their higher end stuff was on sale.

Would t it make sense to buy multiples to qualify for free shipping and then just return the unused items?

Absolutely! Just know they tend to arrive damaged. I've bought a few rods from dicks and they just come in a cardboard box. However, when this has happened, I've chatted with customer service and they've refunded the rods without needing to return.

Can someone tell me the "Line Weight" and "Lure Weight" for the Medium-Heavy rod? They only list the specs of the Medium-Light rod on the website and I can't find the specs anywhere on the web.
