Agh I want one these but can't justify the costs when I can buy lavazza blue capsule for 30c each or so.

Anyone compare a machine like this to the Phillips? I get tempted when they are in the $500 range.

I have had 2 Juras, Delongi, and currently the Saecco. In my personal opinion, Jura makes the best espresso drinks, but Delongi and Saecco both make good drinks. But if something goes wrong with a Jura you have to send it back to a service center. Delonghi and Saecco I have fixed it myself and parts are freely available. I justify the cost by not going to Coffee shops and paying 6 bucks for a coffee because it adds up over a year.

Isn't this what Tony Soprano bought Carmela for Christmas?

We had a Jura in our office for a year or so. It was just constantly broken. We finally replaced it with a serviced Nespresso commercial unit that has been flawless. Mind you this isn't a fair comparison, I'm sure if there was a Jjura guy", like our "Nespresso guy", that came by and handled maintenance it would've been fine. The Jura probably also wasn't meant for 8 people using it all day.

Yeah imagree that makes sense if your buying expensive Starbucks everyday.

Yeah at that price I would be worried about repairs.

My Jura was six years old when it stopped working. Jura charges a flat fee to repair and return ship. They have great customer service. A year later it needed service again. They offered me a trade in or repair, I passed. I bought the Philips 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine - LatteGo. It's not as nice looking as my Jura but, I like the fact that the brew unit can be pulled out and cleaned and the coffee and milk drinks are very good.

My brother bought this same Jura about 8 months ago and it failed him at month 6, not sure if it was just bad luck or if this model is troublesome.

I currently have the jura S8 which I have been using for over a year without any issues.

Just an FYI for everyone, luckily Costco returns are so easy.

I actually had a Seacco Encanto ( very similar design I believe to the Phillips) machine before my jura, regular coffee is better, but nothing out of the world.

However if you like fancy milk drinks, my jura makes a lattè MUCH better than my old Saecco made.

Interesting, I'm surprised by the negative comments. You don't have to look back too far to see nothing but love for this brand, not to mention a bit of putting on airs. Just say'in.

I've had this model for only three months, but it's been making great cappucinos the entire time. I could complain about the maintenance product costs, but you're looking at a $2k coffee machine...

Question: When would you want to spend $1300 on this machine if you get a great espresso from Breville which is priced at $600 and sometimes goes on sale for $524?
