Unlike sam's, Costco registers your driver licence. You can't swap emails and credit cards to dodge the 18 month new customer requirement.

I agree, my local Costco is notorious that even if you're not a member for 18 months, they said my info is still exists in their computer and refused to honor any discounted membership and also once said I can't join a family member living in the same address because my relatives last name is different from mine. My local Costco enforces their own crazy rules and I told them to kiss my back and went to local Sam's which is very friendly and also as a premier member get to enjoy unlimited order online and have curbside pickup without going to the club, which is really useful during winter months.

For Gold customers it is a minimum of yearly $3000 purchase to get back the additional $60 for Gold

Costco isn't for everyone, but criticizing them as being unfair to their loyal customers is unfair.

You will get it automatically.

The gift card email will take you to a website that has a barcode that you scan at the register, isnt tied to an account. The website also has the gift card number and pin if using it for an online order instead

I signed up for something like this 3-4 years ago when my wife already had had a membership in her name, which had lapsed a few months before. I'm not sure if it would work again, i.e. if my wife could use this to sign up in her name again.

I just wasted $60, the Costco 4 minutes away is a Costco "Business Center" and doesn't have a deli, bakery, TV's, Electronics. All the stuff I was wanting.
I have to drive 20 minutes away for all that now.
I should have gone with a Sam's Club, they were 5 minutes away too.

I printed the Costco membership confirmation email & brought it to the front area of Costco. They'll take your picture & print you a card there.

On another note, after all these years, Costco still doesn't accept Mastercard Credit Cards! So it looks like I'm applying for a new Visa card just so I can shop & buy cheap gas, since I don't want to deal with constantly getting a gift card.
