Oooh this is a good deal. I pounced on a deal for the 13th gen version CPU alone for $240.

Might just buy this and sell off the 12700K. DDR5 RAM hurts though
Not worth hassle would just buy ASRock Z790 DDR5 for $180 better VRMs and Memory controller. After try sell 12700k would barely get $200 after fees and shipping.

FYI the version without integrated graphics (i7-12700KF) was $235 a few months ago. Most people building PCs get GPUs so you're paying $25 more for nothing.

Edit: It is literally $240 right now on Newegg

I am running this CPU and a Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Ultra. I only have a RTX3060Ti but I was able to play DIV with almost maxed settings at 2k. I had 32GB of RAM but I think DIV beta had a memory leak cause it was using almost 29GB so I upgraded to 64GB of RAM so we'll see if they fixed that leak or glitch with the beta happening this weekend!

If I could justify, I would purchase this kit for one of my other desktops I have. Highly recommend! I was a little leery of the bending bracket this generation of CPU's have... so I purchased this plate from amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 to help support the CPU cooler. If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about, there have been tests by incredibly talented people that show thermal paste and cooling is uneven with stock brackets on this 12th and 13th generation of motherboards. So certain parts of your CPU may get much hotter than they should be getting... possibly reducing performance or even lifespan. Adding that 3rd party bracket will allow the heatsink to sit properly and flush and not bend or warp any parts of the socket.. keeping everything uniform.
I use a closed loop liquid cooled cooler for all my builds.... even though I don't overclock, but I feel it is more efficient than air.

Here is a link to my hardware via CPUz

Good info, I'm gonna wait and see what the 14th gen and next AMD cpus come with. Hopefully they iron out these DDR5 and chipset woes. If I can get a 5950x for under 300 within the next year, My 5800x can do for another year or so.

It is $5 less ($329.98) to get the Asrock z690 Extreme MB
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Co...bo.4546434
It is a very similar board except it does not have Wifi (has antenna mounts and WiFi slot) which I did not need and is DDR4 which I have a lot of so it makes my upgrade total a lot less. The Asrock also has the USB C 3.2 2x2 20Gbps for the front port and 10Gbps for the rear while the MSI is the opposite. The Asrock has more rear USB3 ports and 1 more Gbe LAN port too. The Asrock uses the ALC1220 vs the ALC897 chip. The Asrock has 1 less M.2 2280 PCIE3x4. They both show having 2oz of copper. (Are they the same manufacturer?)
I have had great experience with Asrock in the past.

To find the Combo, you have to search for the 12700k but not open it's product page and the click on the Combo Up Savings button. I could not get to it from the 12700k product page like I use to.

Also there are similar combos for the 12700KF but I did not see one for DDR4 so even though the K is more expensive, it will be the cheaper upgrade for me.
If you did need good Wifi + BT, Newegg has the Fenvi kit for $24

Yes but why would you want to? Just buy a new motherboard.

Yes, according to: https://pangoly.com/en/compatibil...z690-a/cpu. It's just that KF processor does not support integrated GPU.
