Speakers last forever, receivers don't. Rather you invest in nice speakers you can use forever and possibly resale, rather than a receiver that will junk out in a few years.

Decent deal …a 9.2 receiver and a 5.1.4 set up for $1100 new is hard to beat. Not the best but that onkyo is the chest way to try Dirac live .

Anybody experience this set for music? Primarily EDM.

How futureproof is the receiver?

This is about $150 savings over buying the components separately on Amazon.

What he is talking about you can get these speakers for $299.
That is not a good way to spend $1099 budget for an HT system.

OMG, just bought the same receiver 2 month ago from newegg.
not sure if the speaker is the best quality, but who cares at this price point. and 5.1.4 is the best format for a medium size room.

I would point out these are entry level speakers, how much Dirac does may not be much.
Dirac does not optimize Atmos modules also.
