However, I'm not really a big fan of 6'6" rods for bass fishing. 7' is better in my opinion.
A pfluger president is the wrong reel for inshore SW fishing especially for big reds. I don't think you can fault the reel, wrong application.

No way you find a comparable rod/reel combo for $60. This rod alone is $100
You can try code SG4207 for 10% off which put this combo around $99. Shipping added $7 which is basically the member price to door.
However, I'm not really a big fan of 6'6" rods for bass fishing. 7' is better in my opinion.
Other combos are on sale and so e you can choose different size rod.
I'm not in the market for any fishing gear, this combo is way way better than the daiwa deal and a good bit better than the lews deals.
If your new to fishinh I'd say go with the daiwa combo, for a lot cheaper, but this is a definite upgrade if you like a 6'6" rod.
What makes this rod better than the Lew's ones on sale?

I personally like the pfluger and Fenwick set up. A lot of people like lews also. Personal preference. Both good deals
