your warranty will be void if you update your BIOS....
I saw the video but I think that the reviewer is more angry that he did not receive a proper White colored board as a lone frome Asus than the BIOS issue.
That BIOS is a Beta bios and it is not going to be updated automatically through Asus Software and in the BIOS description, directly in the main page, it is clearly mentioned that this is still in testing phase and Warrantry will be voided if you install it. They are not hiding anything or pushing that BIOS automatically and then informing customer that the warranty has been voided.
I agree that the issue is there but it is no where near the way those reviewers were trying to make you belive. This AMD overvolting issue is a issue from AMD side and it will need a lot of testing by the Board partners before release a complete fix.
I wonder if this is really the 3D screen version. On the Asus support website it does not mention at all any 3D reference on this same model…
Asus does not mention that in any of the 3D capable laptops, under specification section. However, the series is called K6604 series. Please check the official link below and go to the spec section from there where you'll see that K6604JI has been listed. https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-...led-k6604/

This is the 1st VivoBook laptop with a HX series CPU and basically a slightly cheaper alternative to the 2023 ProArt StudioBook 16 which costs around 1K more for the similar configuration. Below are couple of interesting facts which you should be aware of.
This is the 1st ViVoBook laptop with HX55 series CPU and it has the fastest version of HX series, i9-13980HX.
The display is a 3200x200 3D OLED 120Hz display which uses Glass less Spacial Vision technology by using multiple cameras to track the viewers eye. This was reviewd by couple of YouTubers, including Dave2D. You can check that for better understanding. They were pretty impressed.
Along with that, this 3.2K display has 120Hz refresh rate and 0.2 ms response time, typical for OLED and it is perfectly capable of gaming and better than almost all 120-165 Hz IPS Panels which needs Overdrive mode to reduce the response time but that results in Ghosting and overshoot.
This also has the Virtual Dial Pad integrated in the Touchpad which is integrated with various professional software like Adobe suites and can be used to control different things.
Unlike the previous VivoBook series, this one is almost fully metal construction.
Regarding TDP of the CPU and GPU below are the detaILS: -
The CPU alone can consume up to 105W
the GPU has maximum TGP of 115W, including Dynamic Boost. Now that may sound lower than the 140W max TGP in gaming laptops. in reality, none of the Nvidia's mid range 4000 cards never go beyond 100W due to Nvidia's voltage restriction. So, it's performance will be closer to most of the thicker and heavier gaming laptops.
The sustained CPU+GPU Power is 150W. So, in games, it will probably work in 55W (CPU) + 95W (GPU) mode.
The Laptop is very light at just 4.19 lbs which is lighter than Asus' Thin & Light gaming laptops like M16 and G16 and actually lighter than the 2023 XPS 15 laptop as well, which has just a 50W RTX 4070.
Unlike the older ViviBook designs coming with fully soldered or partially soldered memory, this one has two SODIMM DDR5 slot, with 64GB maximum memory support.
Regarding the PCIe M.2 slot, it has only one which I think a budget decision.

Jarrod's Tech youtube did an analysis on this issue with 40xx series not giving additional performance after 100 watts. Looking at his charts, seems like 80 watts for the 40xx series is about the sweet spot for performance to watt / thermals. 80 watts provided only 5% less FPS than 140 watts, and only 4.2% less than 100 watts. Below 80 watts the FPS drops off. So you could run this laptop at probably 80 watts GPU / 55 watts CPU and save the 15 watt headroom for thermals / fan noise.
Seems like an error on neweggs part to list this as the 3D model. The exact model number K6604JI-ES96 they list on Newegg is the same "non-3d" one that Asus is selling on their store for $2199. And if you look at neweggs pictures you can see it doesn't have the two cameras the 3d models have. Also the K6604JI seems to be the broad model, that model number is on both the 3d and non 3d tech spec page on Asus
Here are both the links for the 3d and non-3d k6604 models. Neither list the sub-models but you can see the 3d model has a longer camera lip, whereas the pictures on Newegg shows the smaller lip that's on the non-3d models

I noticed that too. That's why I am worried that this is not the 3D model. To make things worse, they have listed another Asus VivoBook Pro 16X OLED 3D with a 4060, the model K6604JV-ES94. This one is even more clear to me that it's not the 3D model.

I bought this since I wanted an OLED laptop with a 120Hz display, and can confirm this is not the 3D version - though the screen is otherwise correct (3.2K/120Hz/HDR/600nits). I will evaluate it for the newegg return window and see if it's worth keeping still.
