I still don't think there are smoke detectors like this on the market that also have the hardwire connections so you could integrate them with your legacy home smoke detector hardwire system. I have the ring listener that sits next to my legacy detector but I really wish I could have wired in those other ones. Battery only but the batteries do last a long time.

I gave up on my search for wired z-wave smoke detectors a few years back. Hopefully we'll eventually get some Matter devices as that's on the unofficial roadmap.

Have they fixed false alarms? Last time I bought it false alarmed that led to Ring calling fire department. Next thing I knew a fire truck was outside my house in the middle of night.

Annoys me too that the only hardwired smart detectors are congesty Wi-Fi and not Z-Wave or Zigbee. However, Alexa Guard includes detection of all devices emitting an alarm in a household, and does NOT require Alexa Guard Plus payment.

thats so fake. they didnt even make any sound before that? thats more a silence callhome instead of a 'false' alarm.

With this one alarm doesn't go off on all zwave alarms at the same time?

They do not unfortunately. Nest Protect does, but at $100 a pop.

Last time mine went off Ring monitoring station called me to see if we wanted the fire department sent … did have to say "no" 3 or 4 times before they were happy. (not technically a false alarm … Stupid electrician cut the wrong (live) cable 6 inches from the detector, and the "puff" of smoke it generated was detected)

What about these ones?

https://www.costco.com/.product.100347069.html

They seem like they wirelessly integrate and sound alarm at the same time.

Also, are the above first alert one worth it than the nest protect?

Those interconnect but do not have Z-Wave capability. With Z-Wave I can have Z-Wave alarms go off and all the lights in the house turn on and locks unlock.

Almost a perfect deal for me: photoelectric sensor (not ionization), CO sensor, Z-Wave. The thing that would have pushed it over the top for me is if it were one of the ones with a built-in lithium battery that you don't change at all.

Do these work when not hard wired?
