Shoes, jacket, pants, underwear, the whole 9 yards.
You don't.
After I crashing with jeans, t-shirt and sneakers, all my attire became a great Friday the13th style Halloween outfit that would have cost a small fortune with that authenticity.
The jeans were the best, the red goes great with the blue and the abrasion shredding. Besides that I enjoyed sleeping on one side for a month.
This gear stuff is totally overrated.
Dress for the slide, not the ride.

These will provide lateral crush protection at the sole, but they don't have any reinforcement in the toebox or the heel like a lot of other brands. For their MSRP I'd pass for something more protective, but at $110 you're not going to find a lot that's as good.
I just bought a pair of Falco Lennox 2s that are pretty great, and they're more robust than these TCX for $15 more. They're a European band, but there's at least one US seller on Amazon. The fact that you can zip in she out of them is the real game changer.
I'm not sure it's a good comparison, though. TCX build quality is why they can sell these at MSRP. Lots of cheaper shoe brands do cut corners. And the TCX are waterproof, where the Oxfords are perforated for air flow.
What the heck? I need a separate pair of shoes as well, for my upcoming motorcycle purchase?
Just as @ACEleven stated, you'll need full gear to do this right. Just like you have to account for the cost of insurance, tires, oil changes, gas, wiper blades, etc when buying a car, you have to account for proper gear when buying a bike. It's a negligible cost compared to everything you'll spend on your bike, and it's the cheapest insurance policy you can get. How much would you pay per month for an insurance policy that drastically reduced your chances of experiencing serious bodily injury in case of an accident? Now imagine you could pay that just once and never have to pay it again. That's literally what good gear is.

Sarcasm so good, I can't tell if that's what it is. Lol. I mean this as a compliment.
