FYI - These KNIPEX are 7.25", where the ICON version is 10", so not a direct price comparison.

I have a smaller version. Should I get the 7.25' or 10'?

7.25" are smaller and can fit into smaller spaces. 10" permits application of torque with a lower force.

Both are useful, with either one being preferential depending on use case.

Honestly, I own every pliers wrench size except for the (way overpriced) XS and the one I use most is 150mm. The 180mm size is an excellent compromise size... the 150's jaws only open up 1" or 27mm, while these 180's jaws open up a full 40mm or 1.5 inches. That's a full 50% larger jaw opening, for pliers that are only 30mm longera in total length. And 30 mm is only about 1.2 inches - so the overall jump in size from the 150's to the 180's only comes down to an extra 1.2 inches for 50% more jaw capacity. Hard to beat this size (esp at this price) in my opinion.

10 is probably over kill unless you're working with really large nuts and bolts. Weight and size are also factors to consider when working with tight spaces. 180mm should be fine for small and large applications.

Same here. I have 150mm pretty much does everything for home. most fastener around the house are small. The 10 inch is indeed overkill its nice to have for BIG bolts/nuts but how often do you need it? 10 sits in drawers for that once in blue moon need. If I had to get the 10 id go with the Icon when there is 30% off sale but if you see yourself needing the 10 often its probably good to buy. I have the Channellock 430, 10 inch for bigger needs, its lighter easier to use.

The silver pair is still on sale but these were cheaper. Also they have a 10" size on sale as well for the guy saying this one is 7.25" and the icon is 10". One never includes icon in a sentence with knipex.
