Note that this trimmer is attachment capable, which means you can take the end off and replace it with an edger, polesaw, etc.

The attachments are apparently somewhat standardized across brands. But I haven't tested it myself. https://old.reddit.com/r/Dewalt/c...r/gz2ucif/

I love my old Redmax gas trimmer and have no plans to sell it, but I haven't touched it in 3 years since getting a dewalt 20v trimmer. No 2-cycle mix, no spark plug replacements, no choke or pull start. Don't even need hearing protection. I didn't buy it to "save the planet", just for the convenience factor. You don't want it? Great, don't buy it. Move on. It's still a good deal, compared to current standard pricing.

60V rating vs 20V rating, they're both 9ah of 20v or 3ah of 60v.

It looks like the 2nd free battery is a 9ah, but the one included with the trimmer appears to be a 3ah. Still not a bad deal.

It is attachment capable. The larger portion of these type of tools are modular, but there are several brands that use proprietary accessories (Milwaukee I'm looking at you, EGO and another big name that escape me do as well though I believe) Ryobi, trimmer plus, power works and most other "universal" attachments do work though.

Great tool here, runs like a consumer gas tool easily, finally don't feel like I need to second guess battery lawn tools with this and the newest flexvolt blower.

FWIW if you don't need a bunch of batteries and you're a cheapskate like me you can buy the power head super cheap on ebay and then salvage a trimmer head from most any gas trimmer that takes accessories (find a broken one on CL/Facebook Market/etc) as long as it has a large cutting path then put the Husqvarna string head on it and you've got the setup.

Own this trimmer, it's great. On par with gas for the vast majority of operations, but it's exponentially more convenient. Battery life is decent enough to last an entire 1 acre lawn for me. Killer deal with two batteries

Ordered one. It wanted to charge shipping so I did local pickup instead, but for the battery, it only gave me 2 choices (not my closest Ace, but OK). The trimmer was ship-to-store by later this week. Hopefully.

Note that in the "free item" terms, it says you must either pick up both at same store, or do ship-to-home for both items.

This looks like a great unit, and I'll see if the "attachment capable" is capable of attaching to anything else I have (several systems through the years).

The battery naming is confusing because the 3AH battery is also 9AH when used in a 20V tool. Note that the original "60V Flexvolt" battery was only 2AH / 6AH@20V. So this is the newer bigger Flexvolt battery; getting two of them in this deal is what really makes it a deal...

Oh yeah, it says it comes with .080" line, which is average for medium-duty trimmers (light ones are only .065"). But the good news is that the specs say you can use .095" line which is better if you are doing heavy grass or weeds.

How does this compare to the other posted EGO Power+ ST1523S 15-Inch trimmer?

I'm already a DeWalt tool user and I have yet to pick a lawn tool company. I watched a Project Farm video comparing trimmers and he gave DeWalt a real positive review. EGO too.

Is the shield on this wider than their other ones? It looks like it is. I have other versions and the shield is terrible and I get covered in grass.

I have this trimmer and salvaged an "edger" attachment from a Craftsman gas trimmer that had died. Rotating the edger 90° and with an attached "Oregon brush cutter blade" this thing is a wicked and dangerous unstoppable implement in the war against invasive blackberries. Keep kids and pets far away while cutting.

Later, I "upgraded" to the matching DeWalt brush cutter head meant for this tool and was very, very disappointed. I wouldn't pay $20 for the DeWalt brush cutter in comparison.

Not available for delivery in my area. Only available as a "ship to store" - which then tacks on $40+ and is the only option. Could potentially be a good deal but not after you add on that ship to store nonsense.
