Before people start posting misinformation, this is an AM4 CPU that does not suffer the same issues that current AM5 CPU's are experiencing (frequently mentioned regarding ASUS boards)

Quite true. Great gaming processor. Works great in AM4 if your mobo can support it (i.e. one from the past few years, not the early B350 chipsets).

This has been the price for the past couple of weeks though, so is likely "the new normal".

Zen4 I/O is just a weak IMC. EXPO via AGESA was forcing high SoC voltage on every board, with ASUS suffering from poor OCP and weird LLC.

Not even sure why boards are 2DPC... There's no way people will be able to run 5200 MT/S with 4 sticks now. Official spec is 3600 MT/S as 4x1R or 4x2R as seen here. https://www.amd.com/en/products/c...en-7-7700x

Asus made some eff'd up statements about warranty and what not as the biggest critique, but its really a two fold issue Stock SoC voltage is low to mid 1V with 4800 in 2x1R setup...I personally wouldn't feel comfortable with AMD's own 1.3V limit.

EXPO does not define voltage for any voltage rails. That's why the majority of issues you see are with ASUS boards since they were running excessive vSOC (and also overshooting even their already high defaults). Combined with a lack of working over-current and over-temp protections... oof.

For most end users a 2x16GB or 2x32GB DDR5-6000 setup requires less than 1.25V vSOC anyways. My ASRock board defaults to 1.2V when loading my DDR5-6000 kit on the latest BIOS and passes all stability testing just fine, so I think the 1.35V-1.40V defaults ASUS was using were way too high.

If you can sell yours and it cost $100 or less, probably
