You have to run wire for PoE/communication and decide how and where you're storing recording. Functionality wise these are much better.

I have Arlo and am moving away as well, because subscriptions and being welcomed to an advertisement every time I open the app is an immediate bye bye for me.

Have this camera. Wide view captures 4k and zoom does 1080p. FPS is 20 and 15 respectively during the day according to Blue Iris.

At the minimum you'll need a POE capable switch, or POE injector, to power this thing.

I am not sure, but a good guess is, it's single channel, probably two different port assignments, same ID address. It's the compression they use that is important. According to another post, "H.265 but not H.265+". If you planning on streaming constantly you want high compression rates.

Your router needs to have power over ethernet supplied or you need to have a network switch with power over ethernet ports
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=poe+in...e+injector

check the voltage requirements, but you can get an injector cheap

Power over Ethernet or it does have 12 volt power plug like the ones on old BNC cameras. So if you have an old bnc line going out you can use the DC 12 volt plug πŸ”Œ put still need a Cat line connected to a router so it's redundant just buy a POE router. Know if you have old lines running to areas around your house like I have BNC old lines, I just used the 12 volt DC power plugs and got Reolink wifi cameras they work great and you can control the movement of them. I have 6 reolink wifi cameras in my house 4 are dome ones you can move around

Since some of you are alot more versed than I am. I currently have a reolink track mix hooked up with a cat 5 wire. Thru attic and out to garage to front of house. I want to add a 2nd one to same garage, Can I piggy back 2 POE cameras to the same wire or do I need to that cat 5 to a poe switch in garage and then split those two?

Can Two Cameras be Connected via One Cable

The answer is NO.

Applies to: Reoilink PoE cameras.

Reolink PoE cameras can be powered over the Ethernet cable, and the Ethernet cable can transmit both data and PoE power.

You may run 1 Ethernet cable from the NVR to a PoE switch, then plug 2 cameras (up to 3 cameras) into the PoE switch.

However, please don't split 1 Ethernet cable into 2 RJ45 connectors, as 1 PoE port can't provide enough power for 2 cameras. And also, the Ethernet splitter doesn't support 2 cameras connecting to the network at the same time.
