They typically come in brown boxes. Inside of the box next to the phone number to call, there's usually a letter that says that it is a refurbished product and that it was cleaned to the best of their ability. If you're gifting it, it will be easy for them to tell.

By any chance do you know how easily someone can tell this is a refurbished version? It says certified so I'm hoping is pretty much the same as brand new

I believe this is the new version where you can twist the barrels at the top to change direction of the curl. The old ones are only one directional and you'd have to change barrels if you want to curl in a different direction. Super annoying.

This is the new version. I did a lot of research on whether to get the old one of the new one and this is definitely the new one based on the included accessories.

Yeah I figured after some research that most likely this will be the case, I already placed the order and honestly if it doesn't look used I'll go for it.

Worst case after removing all the letter that says is refurbished you can still see that it has marks of use I'll just return it, it says certified so it's suppoused to look brand new without the case

I have bought 2 other dyson refurbished products. They usually come in a generic brown box. Look new and are excellent quality but never had an original manufacturer box

Can this be used as a hair dryer? Don't want to spend too much to get both of them.

I've purchased a refurbished tower fan and a stick vac from them. In both cases refurbished = like new performance, but the most scratches etc. I've ever seen on a refurbished product. Basically looked used.
