It's so funny how when I got one of the new iMacs in 2009ish I thought the screen was so huge, and recently I tried a 27" 4k screen and thought it was so tiny (I upgraded to a 32" and it works for me, at least until somebody sits me in front of a 49" ultrawide 2160p lol).

I think the 24" doesn't seem so small because it's raised higher off the table top (since it's got the chin and can't be lowered) so you're more looking up to see the top of the screen.

I'd probably still rather do a Mac Mini and get my own 4k monitor. That way I'm not stuck on each device when I'm ready to upgrade. Use one of those Mac Mini mounts to put it behind the monitor if you don't want to sacrifice a neat-looking desk.

Much lower? No. Maybe $50-$100. At this price point, absolute bargain. My local store had blue and silver in stock: 7 core and 8 core.

That was a good deal. This is not as good but still a deal. That said, Apple rarely cuts their older model prices by 33% as they did with the 8-core GPU version. I was using my iPad Pros connected to a 27 inch 4k monitor but the software was not ready for prime time, if you know what I mean.
