5700x is 2 dollars more on Amazon.
Good processor because of its integrated GPU, but has PCIe 3.0 instead of 4.0.

For the vast majority of people this will make almost no difference though.
no usually G is the worst variant if you don't need a integrated graphite, they have less cache, so you will lose some frame on games

Is this as good as a 5700X when used with a GPU?

Excellent cpu. Intergraded graphics are approx 25% faster than a nvidia GT1030 GDDR5. See toms hardware and other comparisons.

Make sure you use 2 or more sticks of fast 3200mhz or above RAM to maximize cpu and igpu performance.

It's like 97% as good. You'd never notice the difference without running benchmarks and fps counters.

Some advice requested:

I've been looking for a while at the AMD Ryzen™ 5 4600G, 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor for $100, and the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6-Core 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor for $123 and now the 5700G.

I don't yet have a MB to fit, but which processor including the 5700G in this thread would be the best bang for the buck or for the performance? Would I be able to tell the difference between those three? I'm not a gamer, just using the rig for photo and video editing and processing, but some of the processing can be somewhat intense. I'm thinking the processor should be the first choice and then I'll find an affordable MB to fit the budget.

Thanks to all in advance.

Good price for those building an AMD4 system. If you have a Ryzen3 and are looking to upgrade, it is worth considering.

I have a 5600X, so there isnt any value in upgrading for gaming.

5700G only support PCI Express 3.0 ; 5700G also got less cache
5700x supports PCI Express 4.0

If your photo/video editing work doesn't make you any money, then go with the cheapest one.
I personally would start the rendering task at night when I go to bed.

Keep in mind that Adobe software supports Intel iGPU very well. The speed of video exporting with the help of intel's iGPU is fast. But not everyone uses Adobe software to edit photo/video.

The latest AM5 CPUs all come with 2 compute units of RDNA2 iGPU.
It performs like a 4 to 6 compute units of Vega iGPU from 5000G series.
AM4 uses DDR4 RAM which is cheaper than AM5' DDR5 RAM sticks.
Make sure you calculate the RAM price difference and rule them out based on your needs.
