I have rubber mulch around my pool. I wouldn't ever use rubber mulch in an actual garden bed. Wood mulch biodegrades and enriches the soil over time. Rubber mulch just leeches chemicals into the ground and is messy. I hate it.

I am ripping out the recycled rubber mulch and fabric from my back yard. The metal shards in the rubber mulch seem to have punctured the fabric and it's full of weeds. Ripping out the fabric is challenging with all the weed taproots growing down through the fabric. House was built 13 or 14 years ago but not sure the age of the rubber/fabric.

I would have to take four to drive trips to get as much mulch that I would need. Which would be about 70 bags give or take.
