I saw this too. Can anyone here speak to the quality of these? I have other Hampton Bay outdoor furniture that's held up pretty well.

Correct. You must buy weights (sand bags or tubes) for the base or it will not hold the umbrella up

I bought one a couple years ago for $500. It's held up well and does fine with moderate wind. I sprayed mine with a weather/UV coating. Not sure if it's helped much, but there's been no fading or dry rotting of the fabric so far. $250 is a great price for this.
