I like the idea of sharing the removable battery. But is this actually a good vacuum for hard floors?
Consumer Reports gives it a middling grade: 57/100. Bad edge cleaning. Poor owner satisfaction and projected reliability. Good on pet hair. But no vacuum at this price point gets overall good grades. Even many that are much more expensive.

I'm guessing pretty much the same. CR didn't test it.
Of Interest: "Consumer Reports does not currently recommend any cordless stick vacuums because of the generally high incidence of problems reported by our members. The problems can include batteries that diminish in power over time or die completely. Such problems are particularly acute by the fifth year of ownership."

Thanks for the reply. I thought so. I've been looking at getting a stick vac for quick messes for awhile. Originally wanted corded but some of them are still pricey and reviews are mixed. We have a canister I like but it uses bags which I hate to waste when my kids spill popcorn etc. This came up and I think my husband has a couple of tools with this battery so I figured it would be something to consider.

Well that's kind of silly of CR especially when they are easily removable and replaceable, unless the replacement batteries are hard to find or very expensive.
Edit: these take 20v max batteries, which I already have a few of. They are easily replaceable and available.

I wish these take b&d 18v batteries since I have a couple of those.
The batteries suck. Pun not intended. Horrible reviews.
Link doesn't work. Not sure how they are on these vacuum but I have not had issues with the batteries I use for my drill, sander, and tire inflator.
They use to have amazing deals at Walmart on 20v drill kit and battery for $10. Then few weeks later they had a drill kit with battery and mouse sander. Battery and tools still works and it's probably been 5 years ago at least.

Works fine here. Overall 1.9/5 rating from actual customers.
"Poor battery power, long charging time, short life
I have a few older B&D batteries that still hold a charge and recharge well after 10 years. This battery never lasted more than 20 minutes, took a long time to charge, and died completely after only 1 year. Very poor product as judging by the other reviews mine was not unusual."

Description says 20V Max power Connect batteries. i wonder what is the difference between regular 20v Max and 20v Max Power Connect batteries. Wonder if they are interchangeable. I suspect they are the same, just rebranded with a new title by B&D. The ones that come with the vacuum is probably a higher capacity than my drill and maybe those are not as good?
For what it's worth, this is the Wirecutter's budget pick for stick vacuums. From the sound of it, all stick vacuums kind of suck (pardon the pun) but this is about as good as you'll get at this price point. I have some B&D tools and I already have a couple of these batteries lying around and our dust buster could use an upgrade so I'm considering this. No idea how the batteries perform in this, but in my drill they're not noticeably bad or anything.

Not user replaceable? I am confused. The title states removable battery.
Edit : I see you have removed your post. Yeah these 20v max batteries are easily available.
