If this is the same deal as last time, this has the older Surface Pro X keyboard that doesn't have the slot for charging the Slim Pen 2. So plan on another couple hundred to bring it up to the newest spec.

Decent for sure. i5 but you don't see the 16GB of RAM this low often.

I'd try and add the 3 year warranty too. My Surface Pro 5 made it just over 2 years before it lost the battery. Microsoft wanted a few hundred dollars to fix it, nobody local would touch it. It's now a brick that won't power on. Loved it, when it worked.

I think this is first deal for 1000 with 16GB ram and model that finally has Thunderbolt?

It might finally be time to pull the trigger especially with 2 years Costco warranty

Oh huge bummer. Apparently the older model keyboard also drains the battery more, which explains why so many people in the Costco reviews are complaining about battery life

The Pro 9 has gotten great reviews for repairability compared to older surfaces

Isn't this exactly the same promotion that Microsoft is running on their own site right now? This doesn't seem like "deal" at all, just Costco noticing they need to bump down the price to match.
