Also in general, carbon steel comes with a much smoother finish and is much easier to season with better non-stick performance. I used to be a big advocate of cast iron, but ever since getting a french carbon skillet off a slickdeal, I barely touch my Lodge skillet. It's lighter, it performs better (non-stick), and is much easier to season/maintain (especially with the weight differential).
