Can any experienced people recommend pads to train kids with? I see mitts, tae kwon do kick pads, shin guards, etc. So many types. Just wondering if there are any must haves.

It depends on what discipline/style you want to train your kid/s in.

Undecided between kickboxing and muay thai. They're under 10 yrs old so maybe boxing mitts will suffice. Not sure whether "cheap" equipment would be considered too gimmicky and it be better to pay up for more quality gear. Thanks for reply.

You probably just need gloves, focus mitts, and shin guards. The cheapest equipment you can get won't be that great. If you plan on enrolling your kids at a local school/dojo/gym, just check out what gear the school/dojo/gym sells, and either buy it there or get it elsewhere for cheaper if the school/dojo/gym doesn't require you to buy their gear.
