Just a heads up, I'm a big fan of the insta360 cameras, but they are NOT waterproof.

They're advertised as awesome for all kinds of watersports, but if you go into the insta360 forums, you'll see a ton of people whose cameras stopped working after very little water exposure. Sometimes all it takes is a splash to render these broken. Some people have also complained about them dying while skiing.

Just a heads up for anyone who was looking to purchase this to snorkel or do any other GoPro style videography.

how much cheaper is it actually compared to buying from 360 directly? i have been seeing affliated links that gives the selfie stick for free. So essentially this is getting an extra battery + SD card for $10 less than insta360.com?

From where I live (CA), insta360.com is also tax free compared to Costco. So this deal is like paying $35 dollars more than insta360.com to buy an extra battery + SD card.

I guess costco warranty is better if someone values that.

Did anyone put lens cover and experience any issues with image stitching from front and back camera?

I was between this and a GoPro Hero 11. Main use was skiing, hiking, sticking on top of vehicles and other action cam stuff. I got the GoPro due to the better underwater case and being better able to withstand a drop. There were some situations where the 360 lens would have been great. Like angling the GoPro down too far on a helmet. Live and learn.

I have had the x360 for almost 3 years and I have always submerged it in the pool. Never had issues. People need to make sure that the covers are fully closed before submerging it in water.

So tempted. I had the Insta360 modular with the 4k and 360 lenses. So many fun videos with that thing. But it was a bit of a pain carrying the parts around, and even the temptation to switch out the lenses prevented me from fully enjoying it. I sold it on eBay after maybe a year. Footage will definitely build up if you don't have a workflow, as it is kind of a 'set it and forget it' experience. You turn it on and it captures EVERYTHING and then you pan around in editing or lock on a specific person and it'll do it automatically. Anyway I always thought I might jump back in for the 360 only. Could just do it now. Need to see how I feel later today.

Big Insta360 fan. Would consider if this is a better deal for you than direct from them. Have links that get you a free 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick with purchase. And no sales tax (plus free shipping) direct from them. Depends on if you want the extras. They can generally be bought for super cheap from AliExpress.

for ski, insta360 is a no brainer. I use GoPro for years, and feel it's best for snorkeling or parasailing which is recording the view more than selfie. I tried GoPro for skiing, good on kids but not involving myself. Last Christmas I got a insta360 for ski season so finally I had myself in the family video too. 😅

Stating Jan 2023 Costco no longer gives you complimentary 2+ years of manufacturer warranty added to every electronic purchase with a Costco based credit card. I use to love costco for this but now i just look for the best deal pricing wise.

Love my insta360 x2, would definitely get this one but there wasn't a major change in specs and useability so I'll pass. If you don't have one and want one, this is a good price for the X3.

Why why why do these deals come through only after I've purchased it already and too late to return?? I wait for months and months and nothing. But when I finally pull the trigger…

This is an extremely good deal. I got the camera bundle with the extra charger for $550+ only a couple of months ago direct from Insta360. Their site has free shipping and no tax, so that's a factor, but for $440 with Costco return policy this is great. I have used the camera on a couple of ultra running races where I carried it in my hydration vest and filmed portions of the race. I am not a good video editor at ALL, but the app is easy to use and I've had some great results. The great thing about these cameras is that you can make any number of edits out of a single video, looking wherever you'd like and not have to worry about where the camera was looking.
