I would used to recommend this. Rest assured, you will eventually have to replace this because it won't work as well as it did on day one, for one reason or another. But ring had a great warranty when you're a subscriber. However, I recently ran into an issue with this floodlight (inconsistent motion detection) and they made excuse after excuse about how it's operating "normally", thus not offering a replacement.

Buyer beware.

Ring is a scam company who makes every excuse not to honor warranty with legitimate problems and they make you go through hours of stupid troubleshooting before they'll even consider sending a request for more help to a higher tier. It's disgusting. I suggest you just buy any ring items at Costco so when they break down and or you have a problem you can just return it and get a new one.

Trick is ur device doesn't connect to wifi so u can't trouble shoot😂..had for 4 yrs plus with security..never had issues getting replaced

Have 2 Ring flood lights, both hard wired. This model (installed 4 yrs ago) and the newer version (installed 1.5 yrs ago). Never had any problems connecting to Wi-Fi and with the LED lights. The motion alerts have been fairly accurate. The app works as expected. Fingers crossed, hope it stays that way.

Yup. That troubleshooting has become a nightmare. Mine was randomly missing nighttime recordings/detection. So in order for a replacement unit to even be considered, I am supposed call back at night and recreate the issue. How ridiculous is that? Gotta get up at 2-3am to drive my car up and down my street or walk up and down my street just to HOPEFULLY recreate the issue.

Have had several take in water such that the LED stopped functioning. Took a picture, sent to customer support, instantly sent me a new one. Tough to complain about that.

Same here. Two flood lights started showing very grainy pictures after more than 4 years of usage. Sent me replacement ones within two days.

Get Arlo, there is no subscription, at least the one i got back in 2017, works like a charm even today. The batteries died long time ago, i hard wired now. It's not missing a beat.

Had the same issue! I have 8 floodlights (2 at each corner of the house, facing opposite directions). 2 years after install, 5 of them started strobbing, ring basically said I would have to buy replacements (even as a subscriber). I was going to upgrade to the 5ghz model anyway, but the support has made me question their business model.
