Graphics Card Comparison:
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mob...844.0.html
This reference is WAY better than Passmark, probably the best place if you don't want to look up lots of individual mobile graphics reviews.

CPU Comparison:
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mob...436.0.html

The graphics card is fine for 1080p, but you'll probably be a bit disappointed at new games native 1440p--especially with only 4GB VRAM. If you can get an RTX 2060 at this price, it'll be faster.

Premiere Pro, as well as most editing programs, allow you to use "proxy files". It creates low-resolution copies of the video files that you edit with so it doesn't tax your machine.

When you go to render the final output, it uses the actual, higher quality original files. The result is exactly the same as if you used the higher res files during editing.

If you use the proxy function, the specs of a machine don't really matter.

Where did you find the 6800h? Is it still available?

I'd say to get this if you need a 1440p screen for productivity and like to game on the side. If gaming is your primary purpose, this is an odd fit.

It was at microcenter, does not look like it is available anymore unfortunately

Looks like they have the 13th gen intel one though. Will probably get hotter but that cpu is a good bit more powerful

I wonder how this compares to the Slim 7 with the 6800hs, 16gb RAM, and 3050 on ebay with the two year warranty for $700?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/15547934...media=COPY

Or the Slim 7i with 12700h, 32gb RAM, A370M, also with a 2 year warranty for $720?

I bought this Idealpad and the AMD Slim 7 a few months ago to compare. The Slim 7 has a slightly nicer enclosure, a significantly nicer keyboard, 2 more CPU cores, much better iGPU, and a waaaayy better screen. I returned the ideapad. $700 for the Slim 7 is an amazing deal.

The Intel version looks nice but Arc is still young technology. I haven't kept up with people's experience with it.

Main difference is that they are refurbished so they will end up costing similar to the ideapad 5 pro. The build quality and screen is better on the 7i

$70 non-refundable Microsoft 365 Personal key via email. Better be 100% sure you want the laptop. You could fight it with eBay, but it's a pain, & far from a guaranteed refund.

Yes. More than adequate at the light end.

Also, see davinci resolve system requirements.
If you ever need to move to that for a free video editor with a much more powerful color correction subsystem, you'd want to know the laptop can run it (from memory, I'm guessing yes it will already).
