Didn't they try sending someone? Sony, that is. I've had bad experiences with their support before but at least they were good about sending people to repair stuff.
Including the one guy who made the TV inoperable...
BuyDig didn't even want to mess with it. It hs damage to the upper right hand corner of the panel frame... They just refunded the whole purchase price and they didn't want it back. Since they didn't want it back I was thinking it would make a great outdoor TV if I could get it to work, so I did some research and bought a new Tcon board as that was $40 and seemed like a worthwhile gamble... That didn't work. It still gives me the five flashes of the red LED when I do the factory reset. Soooo ... I am back in the market. I think I will go with the LG C2 since I am really done with Samsung anything, and this Sony had trouble. I had high hopes for the Sony as my first flat screen tv was a Sony LCD LED back in 2004. I still have it to this day and it still works perfectly. Its my garage TV.

Got mine delivered today fedex 2 day. Took her out of the box, replacing my 2017 oled with this one. Had it in my living room with lots of light coming through the window (other oled is in my bedroom with blackout curtains) but It looked much brighter and vivid then my bedroom TV. No dead pixes, no cracks scratches or dings, as far as I could tell its brand new, and in settings under up time it was 42 minutes, if that is the panel time. I am very happy with the TV thus far, and Ill play with with it here over the course of the next few days, and confirm everything stays as it is now. I have a 75" Hisense 9 series 2022 in my livingroom and I will say it gets MUCH brighter, but almost in an annoying capacity.

Airplay2 worked right out of the box on the Sony TV, Both the hisense and the sony are google TV, but the Hisense doesnt do airplay 2 Frown

also my 2017 LG oled, has 0 burn in and ive used it for PC gaming, computer monitor, xbox, and everything inbetween, you got to be a real numbscull IMO to mess up an OLED screen. Can it happen sure, but I have never had issues with any of my cellphone OLED screens, and I use the dell 34" OLED monitor as a type this, no issues with burn in or anything of that nature, I absolutely love OLED screens, normal LCD screen hurt my eyes after a few hours, and Never had that issue with OLED.

I noticed the Beach Camera site has this for 50 bucks more than through Walmart. I am thinking this one over and will wait until Friday to see what other deals come about but may pull the trigger on it.

You can actually reverse them so that they spread in rather than spread out (as shown in the picture). That's how I have mine set up and it's nice.

Be careful - it says 31 hours but there is no telling if it was actually 31 hours or it was a replaced motherboard that was tested for that long. If the motherboard was refurbished and replaced you have no idea how many hours were truly on the panel.
I highly doubt any manufacture would test a TV for 31 hours. More likely to have been a return that was used for 31 hours.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like the Walmart deal has a "free" return policy whereas BuyDig says: "If your return is not the result of our error, the return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer." So, if the buyer wants to return it due to burn in, high number of hours, or some other issue that is not BuyDig's error per se, I think the return shipping cost may need to be covered by the buyer. If that's the case, it may be better to order via Walmart for the extra peace of mind.

The rumours were true -- these TVs are not refurbished by Sony but by their authorized refurbishing center.

In this case, Costco returns are likely purchased in bulk, processed and refurbished via Sohnen and BuyDig / Beach Camera is just a middle party reseller of the refurbished product. Sohnen would also be the warranty servicer for the 6-month "OEM" warranty, and I believe they are endorsed by Sony directly (i.e. if you bought a new Sony product, a "Sony" warranty repair or replacement woild likely come through Sohnen).

I found Sohnen's website to be quite helpful and informative towards understanding their business model: https://www.sohnen.com/about-us

It looks like they primarily service the refurbs in Tijuana, Mexico with a base of operations in Souther California.

This is neither an endorsement nor dig at BuyDig or Sohnen, just providing more info for how these refurbished TVs end up on the market for those curious.

Thanks for the info. It looks they source a variety of products from many stores and manufacturers so I doubt they have the expertise to service these TVs to the level you'd want direct from a manufacturer. I think the best case scenario is you receive a return from a responsible customer who had buyer's remorse but it's definitely a gamble.

I've looked at a few of previous deals of refurbished TVs from BuyDig/BeachCamera and it's definitely hit or miss. I ended up getting this tv through the BuyDig deal so hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones.

I sent a message requesting information on the warranty from Walmart. Their response:
I have checked "Restored Sony Bravia XR A80K 65" 4K HDR OLED Smart TV 2022 Model (Factory Refurbished includes a 6-month warranty) + 4 Year Extended Warranty" and would like you to know that the 6 month warranty is free of cost but as for the extended warranty of 4 years, you would have to purchase a protection plan.

You are absolutely correct that it doesn't state that on the item page and I agree that it can be misleading, I apologize for this, and I have filed a complain regarding this to be stated on the website.

Was the reply from Walmart or from BuyDig? I assume Walmart is trying to upsell you on their own warranty.

After purchase from the Walmart deal you get two emails from Beach Camera (basically BuyDig) for the Beach Camera order # and CPS 4-year warranty.

I would recommend buying this over the BuyDig deal as the extra $20 gives you:
1. 90-day returns (vs. 45 on BuyDig)
2. Streamlined returns via Walmart (can return straight to store, or arrange FedEx pickup if BuyDig is at-fault such as TV arriving broken)
3. 5% cashback/points from Chase Ultimate Rewards Portal (YMMV)
