You can hack it right now if you want the light. Look for the 6.0 pack they have right now. M18 light is one of them you can hack too.

Could you please clarify?— Do you mean the 6.0 2 pack with charger and select the light as your 'free tool'? Then you can choose to return the batteries? Thank you!

If you choose to select the M18 light [homedepot.com] and free gift separately, price will be $299 and you can return one.

However, if you select the M18 Light & Battery combo [homedepot.com], then it's $279, and I don't BELIEVE one is returnable/hackable. Not sure if this is true, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's one item and cannot return just one for the credit.

You can 'hack' it if you choose the light as your free gift with the purchase of this battery set:

So just choose your free gift and then cancel the batteries after checkout or return them once they arrive. The light tower ends up being $129.68.
