The main thing with these cards is the U3 rating which means up to 30MB/s theoretical which 25 MB/s is very reasonable.

when i was dual booting my 256 i had it set up as follows:
200gb = windows 11 (about 150gb free space for games)
56gb = steam OS (all reserved for OS)
512gb microSD = roms for emulators + all my native steam OS games
the thinking is steamOS games play really well of microsd; i beat the spider man remaster purely off SD card just fine. apparently the way linux is set up it is not as harsh on microsd cards as windows is.
it worked really well but i found myself never booting in to steam OS because i use xbox game pass pretty heavily and i'm less invested in the steam ecosystem. so i ultimately just went full win11. now i use the internal storage for installed games, moved the microSD to my modded nintendo switch and i'm using a smaller 200gb microsd for roms / retroarch
i like it quite a bit. the performance is about the same. batty life does not seem as good, and the OS itself kinda sucks for a handheld vs. the steamOS.
there is a really good guide to get it running here: https://baldsealion.com/
with the tools he suggests it gets win11 in to a pretty damn solid state all things considered
