Honest question. I'm working on a patio set, but kind of a newbie to it all. Why is $250 for an umbrella a slick deal? What's a normal price for a decent one?

Can someone elaborate on the LED bars? I see nothing about this in pictures or reviews.

edit: I found a short review that touches on this. unfortunately nothing describing how effective they are, but basically there are some LEDs along the umbrella top pieces that can be switched on at night - battery powered, solar. that is, unless it's a different model...

Can I mount this into a ground pole hole or do I have to use the stand?
Either option .. sand is the default. Most people might not have concrete or concrete footers below decking

Post Covid .. decent one is now about $600 to 800. Just know anything that is Patio-ish is usually 2x + more expensive

How is this different than

This unbrella has a wind resistance of rating 8 vs the sunbrella 6 .. per Home Depot Q&A. The Sunbrella fabric is usually better than this one. The Base on this is 4x plastic pieces and the Sunbrella version is 2x sand bags inside a plastic cover (See video installation for both). The arm is straight on this and curve on the other.

The best thing I can see is that this umbrella swivels 180 degress maybe? While the sunbrella version you have to move the base to reorient.

Not sure which one I want as well

I am wondering the same. Maybe more aluminum and less steel?
Isn't steel stronger than aluminum? The one I shared and bought looks better made.

I got the other HD (sunbrella) one yesterday and am very happy with it. Feels very sturdy, set up in <1 hour. As a suggestion rather than using the 2 included sand bags you can fit 5x50lbs bags in the base and save yourself a lot of work transferring sand with more overlap weight in the base.

Only major downside i see is the fact it doesn't swivel. I didn't realize that but luckily for me it does not matter much.

Also, the top does not tilt like this one does.

It does swivel. You need to loosen up the knob on the base. It's not the most seemless way of doing it. I'm tempted to get the other one, just wish the cover wasn't black. As I like the Vertical design of the pole a lot better. Plus that one has a step mechanism to swivel, which is a lot more elegant.

I'll let you know how the sunbrella one holds up, it gets delivered tomorrow.
