HI All

Ive been with American Express for over 8 years. I only have a 2000 dollar credit limit. I was offered a automatic increase a couple of time but i declined. Since i have declined they have never offered an increase eventhough i never keep a balance and pay within 48 hours.

If i request a credit increase, how much of a ding will that cause to my Fico score?

Probably as much as a new CC application - I'd suggest going and "updating" your income to something higher than what's saved, and then they usually offer to increase the limit automatically again

Usually it's a soft inquiry so it shouldn't hurt your score, but YMMV
