my guess is 500 is the break even point for 6800-6900 dies
the 6800-6950 essentially are stuck at 500 unless they get down to the very last of the product then they would be willing to take larger losses to offload, say they got 1,000 cards left
to clear off and take it off the credit books maybe they be willing to take 100 dollar loss on each card at 400, so 100,000 dollars
but what happens if they have 10,000 cards left... that would be 1million loss to clear out inventory as well as flooding a market that would be satisfied and not buying the newer series cards
they kinda put themselves between a rock and hard place / honestly i think this is why evga got out... cuz as nvidias main partner during the last crypto boom probably took the massive losses and wanted to avoid a repeat
