Better too firm than too soft. Foam won't be useless as quick.

If you are planning to buy it, i highly recommend doing a coat of weather proofing stain. Especially if its going to get direct sunlight(UV) exposure

Materials. You can get cheap plastic chairs, for example, but after some summers in the sun they'll be brittle and faded. Meanwhile the same teak adirondack chair has been on my grandmother's deck for as long as I can remember.
