Why is it so upright? Adirondack chairs are usually more reclined. This looks uncomfortable.

I thought so, too, but convinced myself it was probably a lot easier to get up from Wink

The one review (duplicated, lol) also mentioned that this means you don't need legs jutting way out behind it. Seems like a plus for packaging and moving them around.

Teak or go home.

Seriously strongly recommend going teak. Docks especially, they do well around constant water.. and pools. Pine, you fart on it once and it leaves a stain for life.

It's the way the rear legs are attached. If you look at traditional Adirondack chairs, those legs "flow" from the front of the seat and curve downward to the ground. These look more an upright folding chair.

I bought two unfinished chairs, they came well packed in a heavy cardboard box shipped to the store. I am currently finishing them but they are good solid wood chairs and were certainly a deal at $75 ea.
