Walmart had/has something called a Holy File. Basically a contoured piece of plastic with aggressive abrasive material glued on. It's the best I've found at removing calluses without rubbing on your feet for 20 minutes. Not shilling just trying to help anyone with similar issues.
There's an equate callous rasp ($9 Walmart) that's been doing wonders for me. Shaves off the skin after several passes. I do it after the shower when the skins soft. If you want to remove lots of skin get a good rasp.

Might be dependent on whether you've used other coupons recently, I've seen a lot of insole deals.

I also had confirmation in another way. A friend had really horrible feet. He accepted a job where he worked outside most of the time in Japan which has a nicer (nicer than MN) climate, when he came back to MN his feet were soft as baby butts. It is rare to get enough Vitamin D naturally as we aren't outside as much and when we are we often wear sunscreen. I either discovered this by accident or read it somewhere.
