I'd be cautious, the recent reviews say the controller has been swapped and it's now a realtek dramless controller.

What's up with all these bait and switch tactics?

Crucial MX500 is another 'used to be well regarded' line I've heard that did this too

Amazon showing $198 for 4TB, although using Amazon CC will receive 5% cash back.

Couple of questions about the 4TB:
(1) Is it single or double sided?
(2) Does it need a heatsink? Thinking of using this as a primary drive on LG Gram and doubt a heatsink would fit. The Gram is PCIe 3.0, doesn't support PCIe 4.0 so not an issue.

So... what's the consensus? Is the update they've made to this better or worse now? And does this actually have DRAM?

And which is better, this or 2TB Solidigm P41 Plus M.2 2280 (https://slickdeals.net/f/16676210-2tb-solidigm-p41-plus-nvme-gen4-ssd-75?p=163733768&src=SiteSearch#post163733768)?

Isn't it that the MP34 has DRAM and the MP34S does not have DRAM?

What would be the throughput on a 10Gbps network with 5 or 10 PCIe gen 3 SSDs vs gen 4 SSDs in RAID5 on something like the 12 slot Asus flashstor NAS?

DRAM buffered SSD better that that use case?

I got one earlier this year. It's a realtek RTS5762 with 128MB DRAM and SK Hynix 128L NAND. This is also seen by redditors for the 4TB version.

The RTS5673DL is dramless and 4 channel. The RTS5672 support DRAM and 8 channel. Reference [guru3d.com]

Are these reads/writes average or lower than average?

Thanks!

A single gen 3 nvme ssd is faster than the 10Gbps network link. The published specs for that device indicate it would further slow down access compared to local storage, likely due to combined overhead including CRC, latency, and RAID 5 parity calculations.

Is this a must get or a pass? Is there a better deal on 1TB now or to wait for?

Thanks!
