I use a similar grill to cook with all the time and it's great. You will need something to put it on so that it's high enough to use. If you don't have that, get a regular grill instead.

Is this a worthwhile option if I'm just going to leave it in my backyard to grill once every couple of weeks? Or in that case am I better off getting a Char-Broil on sale for a few dollars more?

I think if you set your warehouse next to same day delivery, it will tell you if it's a local option. In Northeast Ohio, it is not eligible for same day delivery.

How are hot spots on this? My current grill has to be rotated to get everything to cook somewhat even, and i need something that doesn't have as many hot/cool spots.

I have had the Nexgrill for 3 years and I can say it is build to last. Cast Iron grates are a big plus compared to the stainless steel on this NXR grill. The only issue I have is its a pain in the rear to clean as you have to remove the burners which are screwed in to get to the floor of the grill. NXR has 50 sq Inches more cooking area then the Nexgrill. You can get the Nexgrill instore for $10 cheaper but YMMV.

Never seen the NXR in person but I'm assuming Nexgrill is the way to go.
