The Vitamix A2500 has more features than the Vitamix 7500, but overall, they perform pretty similarly [rtings.com]. The A2500's controls include automatic blending programs and a digital blending time indicator. Its jar is dishwasher-safe and better for processing small batches of ingredients, like for a single-serve smoothie. However, you might like the 7500's simpler controls. It's quieter and better for crushing ice.

The Best Buy one came in a brown box and some people claimed that their units looked used, even though the powers that be denied the possibility. It was also a 7500G equivalent, unlike this one?

I happened to order it just about a week ago with $33 more. Just called them and asked for price adjustment. They did it without question.

I bought a Vitamix blender when one went on sale a few years ago. I used it for all of a month before I grew tired of throwing away fruit and vegetables that spoiled before I could use them. I also made the cardinal sin of putting more fruit than vegetables in the smoothies. The unit was solid, but like so many things I've bought from this place, it is now collection dust.

So glad it died a month or two before the warranty ended. I got it replaced and sold it on CL. '
Took the money I got and bought a Vitamix. I've had the V1200 from Costco for a few years now and it's absolutely great.
To anyone on the fence between the two brands--get the Vitamix. If Blendtec is allowed to make a unit with a tamper, then it might be more of a tossup.
