Agree, with advancement in technology compared to 2019, this is still overpriced, despite the fact it's a nice product.

This is the projector I use and absolutely love it. Bright enough to use with lights on but really shines when it's dark.

Have this projector and love it. Size over quality. Nothing beats a movie on a 120" screen.

I have tried 5040 and I can't keep it for its blurry 4k, is this model shake pixels 4 times to make it better? anyway I ended up with Sony and way better clarity and tone mapping

Of course the cheapest, XW5000ES. I know it is still more than this Epson, but you get laser real 4k and Sony TV level tone mapping. JVC might be better but also more expensive

Screens are not big enough to be immersive, like projectors do.

Despite reduced contrast and reduced black performance, nothing gives that movie-theater-feel and immersion quite like rear projection onto a quality screen. Masking and absolute light control are key, and well worth the extra effort. A screen and a projector can retract into the ceiling so you don't have a huge TV prominently displayed in your living area. Unless you have a dedicated theater, TVs really cheapen a room. If you do have a dedicated theater, using acoustically transparent material will allow you to place your speakers behind the screen allowing for a more congruous audio-visual experience where sounds and voices come from the screen instead of from the sides and bottom.
