Build is roughly worth $950-1000 in parts value if equivalent DIY parts were on sale. So you are paying a ~$100-200 build fee. The thunderbolt 4 port is pretty nifty value and and separates it from a lot of DIY parts you can get in this price range. RAM can be upgraded to 4000 theoretically as Z690 should support XMP but I wouldn't count on it. Not sure what cooler this build has but it likely is worse than the intel box cooler.
Check if your credit card gives cashback or discounted gift cards or extended warranty for HP.com. There is 3% SD cashback too. Potentially decent value here if you don't already have pc building parts.

I think for someone looking for something ready out of the box I think this is a good deal. However, HP is a really really shitty company.
