I read some of the Amazon reviews and although I do not own this book and have not read it, several reviewers said it is politically correct to the max.. it discounts Western Civilization, that Europe contributed nothing for nearly a thousand years during the Dark Ages. Also the history of Israel and the Jewish people is unrecognized in comparison with the writing about Islam. I will pass and stick with my 40 year old Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Bought the last DK book and haven't read it yet. I hope it's history and not propaganda. Had some credits to burn.

Not sure what you mean by "unrecognized", didn't read this book and I'm not planning to but Islam History is way more meaningful from World History point of view than Jewish/Israel one. Trying to fight this is naive, you just need to check a couple of maps from the last 1000 years

Except cultural influence, through Christianity and Islam, but presumably both those are covered.

Do you know why Christianity and Islam are called Abrahamic religions?
