Seems like a good "leave in the trunk" set. Any reason not to buy this?

I would get a 3/8" set as a "leave in the trunk set", 3/8" can take more abuse and are more versatile when it comes to working on cars.

Agreed, 3/8 is a better all around set to have in your car.

I believe those are small sets that are either Metric or SAE, not both. Something like this: https://slickdeals.net/f/16611584-craftsman-1-4-in-drive-metric-6-point-socket-and-ratchet-set-11-pc-15-99

Chances are that your car uses one or the other, probably not both

Some people use tools on many more things than just their cars.

True, but for a trunk set that rarely sees daylight who cares. I have personally used 1/4" to successfully get out of jams several times and the packaging profile is usually smaller to fit in trunk nooks.

You would want a set that has Philips / flat head/ hex/ Allen bits if you want to leave it in the trunk.
