They don't release routine bios updates. It's a maybe and if they do you have to get them from support and a direct random link they send you. Just try searching for it for any of their past models and look at the dates

For those who say you don't need bios updates I'll just say that for the last 5+ years every few months there's either a cpu level vulnerability (specter meltdown) or bios or uefi vulnerability or intel me or anything on the layer basically below your os. And a bios update is generally the only thing that can patch that.

Well as long as you are not using it for high value research or business project I guess it's fine.

If you're worried about security, you shouldn't be buying a prebuilt system to begin with.

The impetus is on the motherboard manufacturer to release BIOS updates, not the vendor.

If you rely on the reseller to "maintain" the BIOS, you're at their mercy. It's often just a vendor specific signature and the BIOS itself is 100% compatible with the OEM motherboard, but cross flashing isn't worth it for a $300 system.

How many simultaneous displays does it support?
3 or 4?

edit: wow. didn't expect they actually addressed this on their website too.

this seems too good.

Great deal but keep in mind this is the 13500H (mobile) not 13500 (desktop), so you get 2 less cores, but its uses less power and has an 80 EU IGP instead of the desktops 32 EU IGP.

Obviously this is not a gaming SFFPC, it can game a bit but thats not its purpose, but would be great for content creators on a budget or just general use (albeit this is overkill for general use, but the price is good)

You can get Ryzen 7735HS based machines cheaper than this and that cpu is about 5% faster than this i5.

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...n-7-7735HS

Also MF units have some cooling issues due to stupid designs.

If you don't need USB4 the NAB6 is a better deal at $329 and uses a 12th gen i7 which is more powerful, it also uses cheaper DDR4 vs DDR5. The net is the NAB6 just as powerful of this with slightly lesser GPU power. I have the NAB6 and ripped a x265 (QSV) yesterday and it was just as quick as my $1300 mac mini pro w/ accel on it. The passmark is also similar.

So I would say the NAB6 is the steal right now IF you dont need USB4 and must have the moderate GPU accel in it. I mean either one you are not playing modern games on, so save the $60+ if you don't need to.

Speaking of motherboard...

https://www.tomshardware.com/news...e-backdoor [tomshardware.com]
The article was poorly written. The issue is with the Windows updater program not some BIOS exploit insecurely connecting to the update servers which is stupid and Gigabyte should be roasted for it. Some GB mobo you can initiate from the BIOS and that is outright stupid (IMHO) if you can check the hash signature you are asking for issue.

In any case your post is a non sequitur to the NZW motherboards in all these mini pc.

This is basically a laptop in a non laptop case. Not worth imo.
Do your homework first. This minipc and the NAB6 passmark is over 20k which is the equivalent power of a mid-grade intel or AMD PC and faster than a current gen mac mini m2 pro. For instance this has as 10% more processing power as a Ryzen 5600 and will idle at 4-5x less power.

These types of devices are the future of computing IF the person doesn't require discrete GPU power and cares anything about their power bill.

This may help inform you: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...-i5-13500H

Good point. Better off building your own. Although, Intel does update their NUC systems bios and drivers quite frequently.
