Nope charcoal's probably too heavy it's too flumsy on the bottom charcoal and going right through the bottom I bought one last time they're on sale for $19.99 on Amazon and I used it for laundry to keep the dog out also this is not on sale it's been this price on Amazon for the last year

Not worth $30, maybe at $20, purchased last time they were on sale, they're kind of hard to open even w the base loaded w sand.

This thing sucks. Got one last time they were on sale and it falls apart at the slightest touch. I could have installed it incorrectly but I don't think so.

Well.. not to contradict every post here, but I got this last time and use it for charcoal and other things. Filled the base with leveling sand. Doesn't fall apart; requires a solid yank to open, but keeps the kids out as a result.

I bought this a few months ago. Same price then, I've followed it on Amazon and the price has been the same for the past few months so this is not a great deal. It's a solid little container. I would purchase again if I needed another. I use it to store chlorine tablets outside that I use in my pool. Very water tight. Solid container if you assemble it correctly. Worth $30.

I'd probably try to protect charcoal from humidity. Food storage bins would be best.
